Roy grew up in Pheba, MS. He got his training as an X-ray technician in the Air Force. After serving in the military, Roy spent his career as a respiratory therapist in Sioux City IA. Roy and Dorothy raised their family in Sioux City IA.

Roy was a devoted dad and a good family man. He was kind and always had a smile. He always loved his trips to Mississippi to visit his mom and family.

At the time of his passing he was in Colorado Springs CO. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Dill, his four children, Barbara Dill, David Dill, Kara Dill/Miller, Kelsey Dill, eight grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Quote from one of his grandchildren. “Papa taught all of us what hard work was. He opened his doors to anyone, and everyone. Not that he had much of a choice, Grandma can’t leave a squirrel to go hungry. He is the kindest, most gentle man I will ever meet. As his health declines, let it be a reminder to all of us to be calmer in our own lives. To work hard for the people, you care about. And to let your wife feed hungry squirrels.”
