Michael Allen Spangler, 67, of Colorado Springs, born on September 5, 1958, in Springfield OH, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025 in Colorado Springs. Mike served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force and went on to build a 30-year career as a postal carrier. He took pride in his work and formed many connections with the people along his routes.
He enjoyed time outdoors, especially fishing with his longtime friend, Paul Nicodin—moments he cherished throughout his life. At home, he spent his quiet hours collecting stamps and coins, reading, and listening to music.
Michael is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ok; his daughters, JoAnn Spangler of Castle Rock, CO, and Pamela and her husband, Brian Lovett, of Denver, CO; his son, Mark, and his wife, Katrina Spangler, of Denver, CO; and his grandchildren, Jared Thomas, Cade Chaney, Jacob Chaney, Lauren Chaney, Roman Lovett, Harlan Lovett, and Andrew Sorenson. He is also survived by his brothers, Dave Spangler and Joseph Spangler, and his sister, Teresa Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Geraldine Day and Marvin Spangler; his step-parents, Lloyd Elmo Day and Margaret Spangler; and his dear friend, Paul Nicodin.
In accordance with his wishes, he was cremated. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Pikes Peak National Cemetery. Those attending are requested to arrive by 9:45 AM. Please follow the signs directing vehicles to the right toward the “Funeral Procession” area and enter Lane 2.
