Esther Madge (Yerxa) Mountain (1940-2025)

Esther Madge Mountain, 85, of Colorado Springs, CO passed away peacefully October 16, 2025.

She was born on July 4th, 1940, in Eaton Rapids, Michigan. Esther attended high school in Rochester, MI and attended Concordia College in St Paul, MN. She later married Walter Mounatin Sr in Loveland, CO. They went on to build a family and life together. 

A lover of the outdoors, Esther especially enjoyed fishing and watching sports. Her lifelong love for animals was evident in her younger years when she took pride in showing dogs. In her later years, she enjoyed painting. She was equally devoted to her family and carried a quiet strength and resilience throughout her life. 

Esther is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Mountain Sr and her infant son, Israel Duran.

She is survived by daughters Dora Melisa Mountain, Rebecca Rachael Torres, Deborah Mountain, and son Walter Wray Mountain Jr. Additionally, she is survived by grandchildren Zachary Torres, Alexandra Torres, Jared Brunk, Devin Brunk, Darrin Proudfoot, Raegan Mountain, and Cole Mountain.
