Harold B. Eidson, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away on September 27, 2025. He was surrounded by his family. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, father-in-law, brother, uncle, friend, and so much more!
Harold was born on August 28, 1936, to Elvis Merle Eidson and Mary Elizabeth Eidson in San Bernardino, CA. He graduated from Hemet Union High School in 1954 in Hemet, CA. After high school, he attended Cal Poly briefly, before joining the Air Force in 1955.
In 1959, Harold met Mary I. Chavez in Denver, CO, and were married January 14, 1960. Harold and Mary went on to have 3 daughters.
Over the years, Harold worked as a computer engineer for Martin, Burroughs, Digital and Oracle. He was a past Master of El Paso Lodge #13, and served as a Shriner in the clown unit in the 1970’s. He loved to sing, dance, fish, play guitar and bird-watch. He was an excellent writer and had several letters to the editor published in the local newspaper, the Gazette Telegraph. Family and friends are what he cherished the most, and he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Harold is survived by his wife, Mary I. Eidson, his 3 daughters, Myrl Williams, Marla McAdams (Michael), and DaVon Wurst, a niece that he considered as a daughter, Rebecca Mascarenas(Adam), his five grandchildren, Cheyenne Fernandez (Gabe), Storm Williams, Lacey Kines (Joshua), Lane McAdams (Caitlin) and Wyatt Wurst (Aiyana), his six great grandchildren, Ryder, Crew, Callum, Miles, Finley, and Gus, his sister Sara Rodrigues, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elvis M. Eidson and Mary E. Eidson, his sisters Mary Slaton (Chuck), Ella Oatman (Jake), his brothers Merle Eidson (Elouise), and James Eidson (Dorothy).
The family plans on gathering to honor and celebrate Harold’s life in the Spring of 2026, to allow family members from afar to attend. Further details will be provided in the near future.
