Edward S Erickson of Cañon City, Colorado passed away at home on September 1, 2025.
Edward was born on March 24, 1951 in Blue Island, Illinois to Edward S Erickson Sr and Marion E Buwolda Erickson. Eddie was the baby brother to sister Barbara and twin brothers Billy and Bobby. Eddie grew up on the Southside of Chicago, spending summers with Aunts, Uncles and Cousins in Wisconsin and Michigan on the lake.
Eddie attended Thornton Township High School and graduated in 1968. It was during this time he found the true love of his life, the American Muscle Car.
Ed would forever be buying, selling, working on and fixing cars.
Ed married Sharon Leach in 1971 and shortly after welcomed their son, Steven. In 1978 they welcomed their daughter, Sandra.
In 1983, Ed followed his sister Barb to Colorado and moved his family to Cañon City.
Ed enjoyed summer evenings playing softball, he was a high average bowler and played on many leagues.
In 1988 he married Judy Lombardi. They made homes Cañon City and Pueblo West while Ed worked for many years at Routt Auto in Pueblo. He spent years “under the hood” with his son, Steve by his side, learning from him and catching that bug for fast cars and high performance engines.
Ed returned to Cañon City where he operated Foreign and Sport Car Ltd. He made a name for himself as a reliable, honest mechanic.
In 1997 he married Dena Farmer and was finally able to build his dream garage. He could often be found in his garage tinkering away into the night. Ed and Dena enjoyed bowling together, summers spent camping at Cutty’s Resort and nights at the Elk’s Lodge where Ed was a member for many years. They had many friends and loved a good party.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara (Marvin) Dornhecker, brother Bob (Carolyn) Erickson and brother Bill Erickson.
Ed is survived by his children Steve (Renee) Erickson, Sandy (Jeff) Mullins, Mandi Falgien, Brian Allen, and Mindy Kochevar. Grandchildren Brooke Mullins, Dominic Allen, Jacob Allen, Alayna Allen, Christine (Justin) Reed, Dale (Samantha) Nussbaum, Brother’s in Law Roger (Wendy) Holcomb and Ira Holcomb, and Sister in Law Loretta Erickson, niece Dawn (Kurt) McDermott, nephews Ron (Marcia) Dornhecker, Marvin (Gwen) Dornhecker and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.
We can all remember Ed, aka Fast Eddie, or Uncle Eddie with smile while listening to classic rock, admiring a sweet paint job on supped up hot rod, or even enjoying that 5:00 beer after a long day.
