Janice Lynn Massie, age 72, of Pueblo West, CO, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on August 16, 2025, in Colorado Springs, CO. She was born November 26, 1952, in Frankfort, KS, as the eldest of four to the late Lloyd and Mary Kay Massie. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many!
Janice is survived by her sisters Karen Hiller (Tim), Nancy Harding (Joe), and her brother Howard Massie. She is also survived and missed by her nephews and nieces, Joshua Martinez, Alyssa Massie, Matthew Dellacroce (Kim), Heather Martineau (Pat), Austin Harding, and her great nephew, Raidyn Martineau.
Janice was hardworking, dedicated and driven. After graduating from Hutchinson Junior College in Kansas, she began working as a bank teller. She eventually moved to Colorado to be closer to family but continued her career in financial services where she worked her way up the ranks and retired as the Vice President of Recruiting for a banking branch. As if she didn’t work hard enough at the bank, Janice had a second job, spending her evenings working at Dillard’s.
Outside of work, Janice enjoyed playing golf, being part of a bowling league and being an active member of her church. She was a proud aunt and was always involved and present in the activities/events of her nieces and nephews. She loved catching up and spending time with friends near and far! She also enjoyed traveling, whether it was to visit friends in neighboring states, or on some grand adventure overseas, she was always ready to experience life!
Janice was thoughtful, generous and beautiful inside and out. She was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey was one marked by love, compassion, and resolute faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of many, and she will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
