Karen Katch, a resident of Colorado Springs, CO Since 2019, passed away peacefully Monday the 30th of June at St. Francis Hospital.
After being born in 1955 in Chicago, IL, Karen was raised on 18 acres in Lemont, IL. She was a talented ballet dancer and later moved to Florida and became a wife and mother. She was a successful owner and operator of the cleaning company, Contract Cleaning Service. After her kids were grown, she moved to Colorado to spend time with her new grandson and became what he called his “Nani”.
In Colorado, Karen was content in the quiet, retired life working on puzzles and diamond art. She also loved taking in the mountain views and watching her garden’s flowers bloom. An occasional visit from a hummingbird or deer brought her pure joy. She was a loving daughter, mother, Nani, and friend whom always followed the Word of God.
She is survived by her daughter Krystal Sgro, son Phillip Fries, brother Daniel Katch, sister Donna Saitta, grandson Xander Waddell, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
As per her request, she will be cremated, and a celebration of life may be planned at a later date. Flowers and correspondence may be directed to her daughter, Krystal Sgro.
