Family and friends are mourning the sudden loss of Arthur William Hammond, of Peyton, CO, who sadly passed away at home on Friday, May 30th, 2025.

Artie resided in Peyton, CO for the last 28 years.  He was honorably discharged from the US Army. He worked long and hard hours for the last 19 years with FirstFleet where he was committed to doing his best to lead to a beautiful life for his family.  He worked hard his entire life to support his family, that was his commitment to life. He did everything with his whole heart. He always lived his life by putting his family’s need before his own all the way until his last breath.  He is survived by his beloved wife of over 50 years (through thick and thin), Darlene, and his three children, Phillip, Joseph and Melissa.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. His family meant the world.

He also shared his life with many animals and loved them all like family.  His love for animals brought him to adopt numerous animals over the years which he profoundly cared for, along with all of the animals that came across him daily.  He could never turn a stray away.

Artie was looking forward to his retirement (which started three days before his death).  He was anxious to get started on projects around the house as well as fishing, hunting, BBQs and spending more time with his amazing wife/ best friend, family and friends.  He will be greatly missed and appreciated for all he did and the love he gave.  We lost a husband, father, friend, and heaven gained an amazing angel to look over us all.
