Richard Geist, November 14, 1942-October 24, 2023, was loved and respected by so many. His remembrances included the following descriptions: * hunter, fisherman, bee-keeper, orchardist, collector respected, ethical, honest, patient, knowledgeable and, committed, loving and loyal to family and friends. We feel sure that Dick heard the loving words, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” as he entered his heavenly home. Dick graduated from North Side High School in Fort Wayne, IN in 1961, from Ball State University in 1965, and from the University of Washington in 1971. His career as a fish biologist for the state of Washington was fulfilling for him and significant in perpetuating the recreational salmon fishery. He is survived by his wife Sue, son Marlin, daughter-in-law Jill, granddaughter Kierstin, brothers Franklin and Carl, and many other relatives and friends. Dick and Sue’s daughter Wendy died in 2006.
