Pete Fred Salas was born on September 25, 1954 in Pueblo, Colorado. Pete was raised with one sister, Ernestine Melton, by Fred and Agnes Salas. He graduated from Pueblo County High School in 1973 and went on to tour the Western United States as a musician. In 1978, Pete was reading a Bible that was in his hotel room, he then gave his life to the Lord and was born again, which led him to leave the Music Industry. He met his wife Margaret in 1984, and married in 1986 in Modesto, California. Together, they raised five boys. In 1998, Pete and Margaret moved to Colorado Springs with their two youngest boys, Conrad, and Gabriel.

Pete worked in sales for most of his career and served in various capacities in Christian ministry. Over the years, he led multiple Bible studies, discipled men to follow the Lord, shared the gospel as often as the Lord provided the opportunity, gave his testimony many times at conferences for the Gideons, was a pastor and Bible teacher, and served on the board at the Berean Call. Pete loved the Lord and the word. One of Pete’s greatest joys was teaching his sons how to play sports and coaching their baseball teams. Pete loved going on drives with his wife Margaret and spending time together. Pete went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 13, 2023.

Pete is survived by his wife, Margaret Salas, and his five sons, Carlos Salas, Anthony Garcia, Chris Salas, Conrad Salas, Gabriel Salas, and his eight grandchildren.
