Veldia June Stanton was born in Glenwood Springs CO on May 22, 1955.  She was a true redhead-even though she hated that.  She was vibrant and full of life.  She would tell you exactly how she saw things and if you disagreed, well that was just fine.  Her voice was unforgettable and her laugh was catching, but man could she dance.  In her younger years, she was a champion horse rider, she was a roller skating dancer, rode motorcycles, and was a wild child, but her passion was dancing.  She and Kim would do the swing like nobody could.  She had a rough childhood, but the love of her life,  rescued her from that at a very young age and they married when she was just 16.  As an adult, he taught her to waterski and this became the family passion.  Many camping and boating trips with many stories to tell.  Veldia was as stubborn as they come, but had a heart of gold, and was a true gem. Her spirit was contagious.  She lived for her family and was very close with her daughters, she helped anyone who needed it and worried about everyone.  She could grow a garden like Dr. Doolittle could speak to animals.  She had a passion and love for animals and her dogs were her babies.  Veldia was not a victim, she had challenges as time went on physically, but right up until the end, she was still growing flowers and maintaining them even though she had to cut back.  She had many childhood demons to overcome and many other health issues, but she fought until the end.  She never gave up.  She may have lost the battle, but she won the war. She  passed away suddenly at night on September 26, 2020.  She is survived by her husband of almost 49 years who lovingly called her Kitten; 2 daughters, 1 son in law, 3 sisters in law, 2 brothers in law; 2 grandsons and 2 granddaughter in laws, 1 great granddaughter (who has that red hair), and many nieces and nephews. We are sad to see her go, but one day we will see her again, full of life, over the rainbow. We would like to celebrate her life and are thankful for the time that we had her here.  A private memorial service is planned in celebration of her life.
