Stephen Patrick Mendon
Stephen Patrick Mendon age 68, passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2019. He was born February 18th, 1951 to Walter and Barbara Mendon in Bremerton, Washington.
He was preceded in death by both his parents and by his beloved wife Laurie of Cañon City, CO. He will forever be remembered by his sons Devon of Charlotte, NC and Collin of Colorado Springs, CO and his fiancé Barbara Gabrini. He is also survived by his brothers Michael and his wife Peggy of Venice, FL and Kevin of Kansas City, KS as well as many friends and extended family.
He attended Washington High School Kansas City KS after which he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as a chaplains’ assistant. Eventually he found himself in the mountains of Colorado where he found solace.
Over the years Stephen enjoyed countless hobbies and careers including white water river rafting, inventing and playing music for decades with bands, friends, family and the church. He will always be remembered for his caring nature and generosity to others.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 11that 3pm at Saint Michael Catholic Church, 1016 Mystic Avenue Cañon City, CO 81212. There will be a reception to follow at the church.
