Joseph T.  Zyskowski (SKI) 73 of Colorado Springs passed away peacefully on June 6, 2018 at the Center of Cordera with his family at his side.

Joining the Air Force in 1962, Joe served in the Vietnam War, assigned to the 8th Arial Port Squadron, U- Tapao Airfield Thailand. His role as a warning operator and combat controller during that time played a significant role in contributing in the success of the USAF mission in Southeast Asia.  Joe retired in 1982 after spending his last five years assigned to NORAD, Colorado Springs, CO.

The real question is not whether there is life after death, but rather how you lived before you died.  SKI lived an eventful and fulfilling life, living fearlessly with a glass of whiskey, as he would put it, “Don’t worry about it!”.   He enjoyed cooking and was passionate about his Pittsburg Steelers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Zyskowski and Margaret Soos, his brother William Zyskowski, and sister Anastasia Bieranoski.  He is survived by his daughters Cheryl Ann Reynolds (and husband Sean) and Lisa Marie Zyskowski of Colorado Springs, CO; siblings Barbara Opatt (and husband William), John Zyskowski (and wife Denise) and Sister-in-Law Lucille Zyskowski, all of Pittsburgh, PA.

He was a proud grandpa to A1C Anastasia Zyskowski of Minot AFB, ND, Adrianna Willocks of Denver, CO, Aaron Zyskowski, Preston and Bella Reynolds, of Colorado Springs, CO.

Interment with military honors will be at Pikes Peak National Cemetery in October 2018.
