Danita Kaye Canull, 51, died peacefully Monday, September 18th, at her Colorado Springs, Colorado home surrounded by family.  Danita was born December 24th, 1965 in Champaign, Illinois to Allen and Donna Brockman. Danita was a devoted mother to four children and a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren. Danita also adopted many children over the years in her heart. Danita also had several nieces and nephews she adored.

Danita is survived by her husband David Canull. Her children Sarah (Brockman) Pita, Jamie Canull, Emily Canull and Rod Canull. Her grandchildren, Anthony, Triston, Tianna, Iridessa, Mariah, E’laeah, X’zaelan, and Enzlee. Her brothers Robert Brockman, William Brockman and her sisters Dianna (Barnett) Musante, Mindy Brockman, and Cindy (Brockman) Melchi. Danita is also survived by her mother Donna (Tarter) Brockman.  Danita was preceded in death by her father Allen Ray Brockman.

Danita enjoyed caring for, loving, and playing with all of her grandchildren. Danita also loved to be around her big family, her abundance of friends, attending fun family functions and traveling to Florida. Danita always had a smile on her face and almost always, strangers became friends. Danita touched many peoples lives, gave some a place to sleep when they had nowhere to go, she always lended a hand and had many words of wisdom to those who needed it. Danita’s children and grandchildren were of upmost importance above all else and she was their biggest supporter.

A Celebration of Life for Danita will take place at the Garden Of Gods, in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Saturday, September 23rd at  5:00 P.M.

  1. Jamie I am so so sorry for your loss. i will keep you and your family in my prayers.There are no words that I can say to help. Its a very difficult thing i know..This is how I feel about my mom and maybe you can relate.

    Mothers hold their children’s hands for a short while, but their hearts they hold forever.Sorry.
