Beverly Mae Virant, affectionately known to all who loved her as “Babe,” passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, in Pueblo, Colorado at the age of 87.

Born on November 3, 1938, in North St. Louis, Missouri, Beverly’s life was an adventure from the start. At just eight years old, her family relocated to Silver City, New Mexico, where she spent the remainder of her childhood. It was later in life that she met her best friend and partner, Larry Virant. Together, they shared a beautiful, enduring marriage of 64 years—a testament to true love, partnership, and deep friendship.

Beverly was a woman of many passions and vibrant energy. Over the years, she found great joy in bowling, Fast Draw, and square dancing at the Red Barn. In 1970, she discovered a love for fishing, which beautifully complemented the decades she and Larry spent at their beloved cabin in Creede, Colorado. From 1974 to 1999, “Cabin 13” was a sanctuary of happy memories, laughter, and family time.

Though she never wanted to be the center of attention,  Beverly possessed a powerful, quiet presence. She was the ultimate silent caretaker, always watching over her family and community with an open heart. Her selflessness was unmatched; over her lifetime, she quietly donated an incredible 9 ½ gallons of blood to help save others.

Beverly cherished the simple pleasures of life, especially her standing Tuesday lunches with “her ladies.” To her family, she was the ultimate baker, keeping everyone sweet-toothed with treats that always carried her famous secret ingredient: love. Fittingly, for a woman born on the 3rd of November who spent so many wonderful years at Cabin 13, her lucky number was always 3.

Beverly’s legacy of quiet strength, boundless generosity, and unconditional love will live on forever in the hearts of her husband, Larry, and the many generations of family she nurtured so deeply.
