Edna Lavern Morrell, born April 13, 1944, went to her heavenly home on May 28, 2026, at the age of 82.
Surrounded by her loved ones, Lavern peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Hooks, TX, to Leo and Edna Blazek, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Blazek, and her granddaughter, Malinda Vigil.
She was a faithful member of Heritage Pentecostal Church for fifty years, where she had many friends and Family.
She worked at Philips Medical Supply and remained dedicated to her job until retiring at the age of 81.
Lavern found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren and family. She loved listening to gospel music, sharing time with those she loved, and playing with her beloved little dog, Nilla.
Lavern is survived by her children, Marla Vigil (John), Kristi Hughes, and Charles “Chuck” Morrell; her brother, Bobby Blazek (Rebecca); her sister, Kay Foster (Bob); her grandchildren, Kenny Beardemphl, Jessica Hughes, Nathan, Caleb, Seth, Levi Hughes, Avery Morrell, Olivia Morrell, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and her dear friends. “He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.”

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Heritage Pentecostal Church (2950 Monica Dr W, Colorado Springs, CO 80916).
