Michael Pastor-Clark, 81, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on Sunday, April 19th after experiencing post-surgical complications.

Michael was born in Leicester, England on July 8th, 1944. As a young boy, he moved from England to Ontario, Canada, and finally settled in Los Angeles, California where he graduated high school and college. He graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in journalism. After graduating college, he wrote for an Albuquerque newspaper. In the late 1960’s and early 1970’s he lived in Wales, where he owned and operated a pub called The Tafern Jem. After his time in Wales, he often stated that “the only good sheep was a dead sheep” after the constant bleating he endured while living there. He met his wife, Bennae, in San Francisco and they were married on New Year’s Eve in 1977. They moved to New Orleans, LA, where their only child, Jessie, was born. They also lived in Orlando, FL before finally settling in Colorado Springs, CO.

Michael worked in the hospitality industry for most of his career. He helped open the Sheraton Hotel in New Orleans, LA and the Dolphin Hotel in Orlando, FL. He finished his career after 19 years as the Director of Purchasing and Project Coordinator at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, CO.

Michael was best known for his sense of humor and trivia knowledge. He was an avid reader and spent quite a bit of time watching movies. When he wasn’t watching a movie, he was engrossed in any sporting event he could find on TV. He especially loved the Olympics and any kind of playoff games. In his earlier years, he enjoyed running and playing basketball, hockey, and golf. In 2006, he fulfilled a bucket list item, and became a certified Zamboni driver!

Micheal was preceded in death by his mother, Cynthia Clark, his father, Ed Clark, and his grandson, Aiden Branford. He is survived by his wife, Bennae Pastor-Clark, his daughter, Jessie Branford (Kevin), and grandchildren, Oliver and Amelia. His daughter and grandchildren were the loves and lights of his life.

Michael’s family has decided not to do a formal memorial service, but will honor him on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Fountain Creek Regional Park (2010 Duckwood Rd, Fountain, CO 80817) between 10:00am and 3:00pm. This celebration will be in conjunction with the 5th Annual Aiden’s Adventure 5k, a community event and fundraiser held in memory of Michael’s grandson, who passed away in 2021. We welcome friends to come celebrate and remember both Michael’s and Aiden’s lives in a truly joyful way. We will have an individual butterfly release and live music, as well as yard games and the 5k itself. More information can be found at www.aidensadventure5k.com.
