Ladonna Zudene Amerson,86, peacefully passed away in her sleep on February 11,

2026, at her home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born in Moore, Oklahoma to

Frank and Eula May Turk on November 7th of 1939, a year where the average home

was $3,900.00, average annual income was $1731.00, a pound of ground coffee

was .39 cents, gasoline was .10 cents a gallon and the price of theater admission

was a quarter. Ladonna spent most of her upbringing in Vallejo, California where

she was an “Ocean Child” before meeting the love of her life and traveling the

world as a devoted military spouse.

Ladonna was a loving woman who cherished her late husband, Richard, and

embraced her children, Ronald (Nancy), Dennis, departed (Vicky). She took great

pride in being a grandmother to Denny (Mary), Crystal (Justin), Tim (Mellisa) and

Cory and a great grandma “Granny” to Taylor, Christian, Alex, Harper, Rilyn and

Aria. She is survived by her brothers Frank Jr., Terryl, Roger and preceded in death

by her sister and best friend Nelda.

A passionate gardener, Ladonna was particularly devoted to her rose bushes and

enjoyed being outdoors. Her enthusiasm for life extended to maintaining close ties

with family, friends and neighbors, and she was always willing to provide everyone

and anyone with an amazing home cooked meal. There wasn’t a bigger animal

lover on the planet, and she was extremely affectionate to her two favorite little

furballs Tigger and Dixie.

Ladonna was known for her quick-witted ornery sense of humor as she would light

up a room in laughter with a great wisecrack or a joke. In her younger days she

loved motorcycle rides, horseback riding and dancing on a night out with her girls.

She developed a strong relationship with Jesus, and she loved her coffee and gritty

old spaghetti western movies. She was always eager to help others, and her love

and support will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. Go

Sooners!
