Scott Michael “Scotty” Valencia, 46, passed away on November 18, 2025, in Pueblo West, Colorado. He was born on August 28, 1979, in Pueblo, Colorado.

Scott was a beloved son, father, brother, and friend whose life was tragically taken. Though his time here was far too short, his kindness, generosity, and unwavering willingness to help others left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Scott is survived by his loving mother, Deronda Toomey; his brothers, Ryan (Rose) Valencia and Eric (Brianna) Valencia, Dannie Valencia; and his cherished children, Scott, Kyle, and Katie, who were the pride and joy of his life. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Valencia; his grandparents Richard and Geraldine Niederstadt;  his grandparents Danny Valencia and Nancy Brooks; and his cousin Adam Niederstadt.

Scott was currently attending the University of Phoenix, where he was pursuing a degree in Cyber Security, working toward a future he was deeply committed to building. Outside of his studies, Scott found peace and happiness in the outdoors. He loved gold panning, camping, hunting, and fishing, and felt most at home surrounded by nature.

Scott will be remembered for his big heart and selfless spirit. He was always there when someone needed help, never hesitating to lend a hand or offer support. His strength, loyalty, and quiet compassion defined the way he lived and the way he loved.

Though words cannot capture the depth of loss felt by those who loved him, his memory will live on through the lives he touched.

“Goodbye is not forever.

Goodbye is not the end.

It simply means I’ll miss you

until we meet again.”

A memorial service is pending, and details will be shared at a later time.
