Vincent Cain, special Husband, Father, Papa, brother and friend left this earth on May 29th, 2022, peacefully at home in Peyton Colorado just the way he wanted to. He had suffered for many years with Congestive Heart Failure and a list of other illnesses. He was born in Mobile Alabama on April 4th, 1958, moving to Southern California in 1966. He grew up in the San Fernando Valley, and moved to Simi Valley, California in 1986. Vince worked for Clark Drugs in both Canoga Park, CA and Westlake Village CA for over 25 years until becoming disabled.  In 2007 he and his family moved to Peyton Colorado where he peacefully lived out the rest of his life.

While Vince loved, camping, trains, the stars, aliens and the universe, Vince was above all a gifted Musician. He sang lead vocals and was an incredible guitarist. It all started when his Aunt Charlotte gave him his first guitar at 13. He played all types of music, but Rock n roll was his favorite. His voice was a gift to behold.  Later in life he embraced praise music and played specials in many churches in Peyton, Falcon, Calhan and Elizabeth Colorado. Vince started playing guitar at the age of 13 and never put it down continuing to play until 5 days before his passing. He played with Inside straight in California for many, many years, house parties, frat parties, weddings in the San Fernando Valley and then on to bigger gigs playing at Bush Gardens and frequently at the Tree House in Simi Valley and even playing at the Roxy in Hollywood, CA.  He wrote over 13 songs with his friend Casey Lamphere by long distance with some of their songs hitting the top of the charts on MP3.com back in its day. Lonely Streets was their top hit. Vince played alongside his close friend Tim Ames on bass guitar for over 30 years until moving to Colorado. Music brought Vince lifetime friendships with many musicians including his oldest and dearest friend Steve Conant, on drums. His life was fuller because of these friendships. Tim, Steve and Vince were like brothers with their friendship spanning decades and continuing until his death. Once Vince was in Colorado he joined voices with Amy Goss, she and Vince had a special connection that can’t really be put into words. She helped Vince on his journey with God through both secular and praise music until the very end of his life. They, with many other musicians including his dear friend Dan Hartman created a band called Solid Ground who played many places in the southern Colorado area. Music was in his soul, and we know he is out of pain and in heaven singing and playing with the angels.

Vince loved his family beyond words, he is survived by his wife of 41 years Teri Cain, his children, Son Andrew Cain, Daughter Elisha Garrett, Son in law Jesse Garrett, grandchildren, Callie Cain, Ellerah Craig, Leya Cain, Hannah Cain, Ryan Cain, and Emmett Garrett, Mother-in-law Shirley Blanchard, Sister Gail Pena and Uncle Dan Alford, brothers-in-laws Brian Blanchard and Craig Blanchard and many cousins and friends. He was proceeded in death by his Father Marion Cain, Mother Doris Alford, Sister Janet Cain, Brother Timothy Cain, Father- In- Law Dupont Blanchard, Brother-in-law Brad Blanchard and Aunts Charlotte Blanchard, Elaine Novak, Dorothy Pringle and Betty Johnson. He loved them all deeply.

We will be celebrating his life on August 27,2022 at our home in Peyton, Co. We will be having a party to celebrate his life and his music, with an open jam session for all musicians who have played with Vince and want to join in.  Details with be forthcoming.
