In Loving Memory of Fern Lupita Garcia

Fern Lupita Garcia, born on October 19, 1945, in San Francisco, Colorado, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family she loved so deeply.

Fern retired from the Broadmoor after 23 years of dedicated service. She loved watching football—especially cheering on her Denver Broncos—and attending their games. She cherished every moment spent with her family, and some of her happiest memories were made while traveling with her children and grandchildren to places like Hawaii, Disneyland, and SeaWorld. Another favorite pastime was visiting Cripple Creek with her brother Marvin—always hopeful, always smiling, and always ready to hit the big jackpot.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonardo and Leonardita Medina; her sister, Diana Correa‑Medina; her nephew, Joshua Correa; and her brother‑in‑law, Javier Correa.

Fern is survived by her siblings, Loyola Medina (Gilbert) and Marvin Medina; her children, Leonard Garcia (Patricia) and Donna Garcia (Alex); her grandchildren, Antonio DeHerrera (Genna), Lenny Garcia (Brittany), and Gabriella Garcia‑Fontilla (Dylan); her great‑grandchildren, Lenny, Daniel, Bryan, Haylee, Noelli, and AJ; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, we will be having a private celebration of her life. She will be laid to rest at the San Francisco, Colorado Cemetery (El Rito).

Fern will live on in the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved her, and she will be missed greatly.
