Elizabeth (Betty) Brockman/Schacher passed after battling Rheumatoid Arthritis and Sjogren’s Syndrome for 30 years and more recently was diagnosed with cancer. Elizabeth was born on March 1st, 1946 to Arthur and Emma (Otto) Sprenger in Elgin, ND. She attended a one room elementary school. She graduated from Elgin High School, May 1963, and received an Adrian Music Award.

She then attended Capital Commercial College in Bismarck, ND and graduated with a secretarial degree in May 1964. Her years of employment included being a secretary in multiple locations: ND Securities Commissioner’s Office Bismarck, ND, International headquarters, Church of Nazarene, Kansas, MO, Wildy & Atkinson Attorney’s at Law, Scottsbluff, NE, Pat O’Neil Attorney at law, Mandan, ND, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Dickinson, ND and Nazarene Bible College, Colorado Springs, CO. Elizabeth medically retired in 1991.

She married Charles Brockman in 1972 and treasured being a mother to Charles Brockman Jr. Later on, Elizabeth married Leon Schacher in 2005.

She enjoyed being active in local churches and music was very important to her. She started taking piano lessons at the age of 8 and began playing for Ebenezer Church in Elgin, ND by age 10. In high school she was a part of mixed choir, ensembles, playing both alto sax and piano for various groups. She become a part of Southwood Gospel Singers while in Kansas City, MO and enjoyed traveling with this group. While in Bismarck, ND she played piano for the Sunshine Choir, English Singers and the Traveling Victory Singers. She continued to play piano in Colorado Springs and helped with the music programs at LaCresta Mobile Estates. Elizabeth was a member of Trinity Church of Nazarene.

She begin living at Sunny Vista LTC facility in Colorado Springs in September 2017.

Her beloved son Charles Brockman, Jr passed in 2019 and her brothers Bob and Jim Sprenger passed in 2015.  She leaves behind her husband, Leon Schacher, Daughter in Law, Kim Brockman and stepdaughter, Kandee Schacher, all residing in CO. Her sister, Mary Jean Heinle and spouse (Wellde) Dickinson, ND. In addition she leaves several nephews, nieces, granddaughters, grandchildren, cousins and a host of friends. She will be missed by many.
