Randall Kurt Jones

Randy Jones, known to many as “Bub” or “Jonesy”, went to be with Jesus on July 25, 2020. He was winning a battle against cancer but was taken suddenly by a blood clot in his lung. He is survived by his cherished wife of 43 years, Anne (Dewey) Jones, his daughters, Leah (Rick) Root and Amber (Jason) Huscher, and his grandchildren, Jonathan (Kirsten) Root, Noah (Cambria) Root, Sophi Root, Christopher, Samantha and Casey Huscher. He is also survived by his mother, Carole Jones; father, Duane Jones; sisters, Lori (Larry) Baker and Dana (Terry) Murphree, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.  He is preceded in death by his brother Mark.

Randy was born March 2, 1957 in Denver, CO. He grew up in Palmer Lake, CO and attended Lewis Palmer School district kindergarten through high school. Randy worked in construction, skillfully operated heavy equipment, built roads and dams along the Front Range, and framed custom homes. Most recently he developed Elephant Rock Acres Subdivision in Palmer Lake.  Most importantly, he took great joy in the home he and Anne built together also in Palmer Lake.

Randy loved people. He loved adventure and fun. In recent years, most of his free time was invested in family, friends and tinkering around the house. He was a lifetime believer in our Lord Jesus; whose faith grew as he came to understand God’s passionate love for him. It is during these recent years that Randy came to fully love and trust Jesus as his savior.

Randy will be greatly missed. His legacy will live on through his beloved family. A Memorial service and reception were held Sunday, August 2, 2020 at the Western Museum of Mining and Industry located at 225 Northgate Blvd.
