Jerry Allyn Kennedy, age 65, of Colorado Springs, Colorado moved over to his heavenly home on March 19, 2020. Jerry was a loving husband, father, and papaw. Jerry was born on December 18, 1954 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Edward Allyn and Jackie Moore Kennedy. He spent his childhood years and early teens in Texarkana, Arkansas where he grew to love sports and his circle of junior high friends. Jerry spent his high school years in the small town of Winnsboro, Texas. He continued his love of sports and played quarterback for the Red Raider football team. Jerry also met his wife Beth (Elizabeth McElroy Kennedy) in Winnsboro.

After high school Jerry explored a couple of career options including construction and owning his own welding company. Jerry, a graduate of the University of Texas Arlington decided to follow his father’s footsteps with a career in insurance. He was a Farmers Agent for twenty-four years before he joined his wife Beth as Vice President of Western Insurance Solutions, an independent insurance agency in Colorado Springs.

Jerry loved music, art, the outdoors, and sports. He enjoyed playing and coaching basketball, loved going to Rockies games, and was an avid golfer.

Jerry was proceeded in death by his parents, Al and Jackie Kennedy of Winnsboro, Texas.  He is survived by his wife Beth, of Colorado Springs. His children Ashley Allyn Kennedy of Colorado Springs, Alexis and husband Kyle Peterson of Damascus, Maryland, and Amanda and husband AJ Robinson of Ketchikan, Alaska.  Jerry adored his four granddaughters Hannah, Sadie and Claire Peterson and Nobie Robinson. Other survivors include his brother Scott (Robin) Kennedy, sister Deana (Mike) Jaggers, Aunt Jenny (Dan) Hall, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Jerry’s life is planned for later this year.
