Donald (Don) Ralph Grzybowski, 89, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away peacefully on March 22, 2020 surrounded by family members and friends.

Don was born to parents Edward and Irene Grzybowski on April 4, 1930 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He worked much of his career as an ink specialist at Frank Mayer & Associates in Grafton, WI, but he is best known for his works of art in the pastel media, collected by art lovers and loyal followers all over the United States and abroad.

He was a gifted artist whose works have been published in books released by the Pastel Society of America, of which he was a member, and was both a member and Signature Artist to the Kansas Pastel Society.   He received numerous awards, from Merit to Best of Show throughout the US art show circuit, and had several private showings as well as having his works in multiple Galleries.  One of his pieces was on display in a Compiegne, France Art Exhibit.  Don was a regular donor to the PBS art auctions, having made donations in both Wisconsin & Colorado.  Many Thanks are extended to all of Don’s loyal fans, both here and abroad.

Don lit up a room with his jokes and antics.  His wonderful sense of humor often showed up in the titles of his paintings.

Don married the love of his life, Shirley (nee Hauser) in 1951, who survives him.  He is also survived by three daughters, Kim (Ed) Gonsorek, Susan (Tim) Gissal and Gail Grzybowski (Donna Skiba) as well as four grandchildren, Heather, Brianna, Ryan and Nicholas, and a great-grandson, Hudson.  He is preceded in death by older brother Edward (Eddie), and younger brother James (Jack).

A memorial service will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at a later date to be determined and announced. Because Wisconsin is his birth home, the family requests donations to Milwaukee PBS in Wisconsin in lieu of flowers.
