Roy Ethridge, 67,  of Colorado Springs, CO passed away on January 2, 2020 at home with family by his side.  Roy was born June 5, 1952 in Taylor, TX to Ray and Faye Ethridge.  Roy grew up in the Texas Panhandle, graduating from Hart High School in 1970.  He then joined the Air Force where he was a crew chief on B52 and KC10 aircraft, attached to the 7th Bomb Wing, Strategic Air Command.  He once caught Air Force One with President Ford.  After his time in the Air Force, Roy spend many years driving a truck until he decided to settle down in Hart, TX.  This is where he met his wife of 33 years, Laura Louise Hargrove Ethridge.  Roy and Laura were married December 26, 1986 and moved to Colorado Springs where they started and raised their family.  Roy worked as a carpet cleaner until he became ill with dementia.  Roy loved the outdoors, camping and walking the Fountain Valley Trail system. He also spent many hours working on cars with his son Clint.

Roy is survived by his mother, Faye Ethridge of Tulia, TX;  4 brothers Clarence and Johnny of Tulia, TX, Jackie of  Earth, TX and Darrell of Amarillo, TX;  1 sister, Neta Gore of Tulia, TX;  wife, Laura Ethridge of Colorado Springs, CO; 4 children, Amber Alway of Ft Morgan, CO, Clint Ethridge, Sherri Boyd and Kerri West all of Colorado Springs.  Roy was also blessed with 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Roy is preceded in death by his father, Ray Ethridge and 1 brother, Coy Ethridge.

Services will be held at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery on January 24th, 2020 at 10:00 am.  All are welcome to join in remembering Roy and the laughter he brought to everyone he met.
