1944 ~ 2019

On June 30, 2019, Ronald C. Martin of Colorado Springs, CO, went home to be with our Lord, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born May 14, 1944 to Luther Clifton Martin and Fae Lucille (Vandruff) Martin. After graduation from high school, he entered into the service of his country in the U.S. Navy, from 1963-1969.  While stationed in Pensacola, Fla, he married Carol Ann Gibson of Jacksonville, but were later divorced in 1972.

He then moved to South Carolina and began his career in law enforcement, and received an Associates degree in Criminal Justice and Public Service. He returned home to Colorado in the early 1980’s to take care of his parents. During this time, he worked for COMCOR until his retirement in 2006.

His fondest memories were spending time with his Dad and family, enjoying the outdoors and taking  time away in the mountains with friends and family camping and fishing.

He is survived by his son, Ronald G. (Martin) Sears, and daughter-in-law Michelle Sears of Saint Joseph, MO., several nieces, nephews along with his closest long-time friends Maynard and Judy Long of Colorado Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and older sister Barbara (Martin) Blanton of Pueblo, CO.

He was cremated, as were his wishes, under the direction of Alternative Cremation and Funeral Service of Colorado Springs.

No services are scheduled as he did not wish any. A private memorial will be held at a later time.

The family does not wish any donations, but contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory if desired.
