Donna Bender, 63, died on August 20th, 2018 of cancer. A memorial service will be held in her memory at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 22nd, 2018 at Bear Creek Nature Center, located at 245 Bear Creek Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80906.

Donna was a daughter, sister, mother, and wife, and is survived by her husband, Curt, and two children, Michael and Ellie. She is also survived by her father, Ben, her older sister Cynthia, and her two younger brothers, Christopher and Michael.

Donna was born in late August, 1955 to Ben and Natalie Tremaroli in Chicago, Illinois. In 1970 she moved with her parents and siblings to Colorado Springs, where she attended nursing school at University of Northern Colorado. She met her husband, Curt, and was married in April of 1988. She practiced as a nurse in Intensive Care units and Critical Care units across the United States, starting and finishing in Colorado. In Colorado, she started a staffing company with her husband in the early 2000’s which grew exceedingly quickly, and raised eyebrows in the healthcare industry all around the Colorado region. The business shined brightly for a short time, and after she became disabled by Multiple Sclerosis, it became the basis for a yet-unfinished creative-nonfiction novel about the cut-throat nature of the healthcare industry.

During her mid-twenties, she found a deep love for God and the scriptures, which she carried with her for the rest of her life, and which influenced her life’s every aspect. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies from the Way College of Emporia, and spent her life devoted to God in every aspect. In her later years, she began writing letters to her family and friends regarding the Word of God, and she held fellowships in her home with her husband where she read and taught it.

She will be remembered for her love toward those in her life, her strength in the face of adversity, and her dedication to accomplish something meaningful in His Name.
