In Loving Memory

Marion E. Charest, loving mother, grandmother, childcare professional and

long-time resident of the Pueblo area, passed away Wednesday the 13th of

September with her family and the caring staff of Winslow Court in

Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Marion was born in 1930 and raised with her four siblings in Omaha,

Nebraska. She moved from Omaha to Denver, Colorado with two of her

sisters to explore life and pursue her interests. She was a dance enthusiast

and taught many forms of formal ballroom dancing for Arthur Murray Dance

Studios. She also worked in several business management positions in the

Denver area. She married and moved to Pueblo where she raised her three

children and one of her grandchildren. Marion was always an advocate for

the love and care of children . She managed Pueblo Daycare Center for

many years and later studied and received an Associates Degree in Early

Child Education from Colorado Sate University, Pueblo. Her dedication and

commitment to providing loving quality daycare for children was realized

with the establishment of Saint Paul Methodist Daycare Center. Where

Marion served as director until her retirement in 2005.

Marion loved good food, especially her daughter’s cooking. She loved and

cared for many pets during her life always willing to consider taking on

another stray cat or dog. She was a gracious and thoughtful person with

her greatest concern for the people in her life that struggled the most. She

is survived and will be greatly missed by her three children Richard

Charest, Dianna Ogrodny, and Phillip Charest as well as her three

grandchildren and three great grandchildren whom brought much joy to her

later years.

Private family services will be held later in Colorado and with her extended

family in California.
