Chad James Townsend 34, of Colorado Springs, CO passed away July 21, 2017. He was born December 7, 1982 in Colorado Springs CO the son of Mark & Mary Townsend.

Chad was a member of BSA troop 75 and achieved his Eagle Scout in 2000. He graduated from Mesa Ridge High School, Colorado Springs in 2001. Going on he attended Johnson & Wales University both in Denver Colorado, receiving his Associates in Science. Culinary Arts in 2003, and then in Providence  Rhode Island,  receiving his Bachelor of Science, Food Service Entrepreneurship in 2005.

Chad is preceded in death by his Grandmother Jean O’Connell, Uncle Michael Rhoades, both of Colorado Springs, and Cousin Tony Haroldson, of Arvada Co. He is survived by his Parents Mark & Mary Townsend, Sister Stacey Townsend of Colorado Springs, Grandparents Elaine & Ken Henry of Windom MN, and Fred O’Connell of Colorado Springs CO. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Chad lived and worked in several places, including Colorado Springs, Rhode Island, Minnesota, Oregon, and in India for 6 months volunteering, with Volunteer Solutions of India. He currently had been employed with Prime 25 in Colorado Springs.

Chad liked experimenting and creating with different culinary flavors, he liked the outdoors hiking, & camping. He also loved to travel to other countries to learn about their cultures.

A service will be held August 5th at 11:00 am in the Memorial Gardens Chapel 3825 Airport Rd. Colorado Springs, CO. Donations received will be distributed among a couple of charities at a later date.
