Joseph M. Beasley

Joseph M. Beasley was born June 30, 1944 to Ely Morgan and Louise in Savannah, Georgia. He passed away peacefully on May 1, 2017. After graduating from Evans High School in 1963 Joseph joined the United States Air Force and served in Viet Nam for 13 months, then South Korea. He was then stationed at McDill Air Force Base in Florida where he met his wife Susan W Beasley. They were then stationed at Patrick Air Force Base and transferred to the USAF Academy in Colorado. His last duty station before he retired in 1987 was McDill in Florida. After retirement he and his family moved back to Colorado where he worked at the United States Air Force Academy as a contractor until he finally retired.

Joseph was preceded in death by his daughter Clarissa Louise and his wife Susan W. Beasley, aka Pepper who passed away on March 25, 2017. His daughter Jaimee Beasley resides in Colorado Springs and his sister Susan and brother-in-law Gail Conner who reside in Savannah, Georgia. The Beasley’s have an adopted son who lives in Alabama by the name of Robert M. Beasley.

Joseph loved life and gave much of himself as a volunteer for many years. He had been a member of the American Legion as well as the NCOA where he enjoyed volunteering at the USAFA athletic events for home games. He and his family liked working in the concession stands cooking for the guests and cadets. The family was very patriotic and you could see them on a street corner on Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day each year waving the American Flag and waving at passersby. He had a love for cats and his pride and joy was Ralph whom he dotted upon.

A joint Memorial Service will be held at the American Legion Post 209 located at 3613 Jeannine Dr., Colorado Springs. The date will be Sunday, May 14, 2017 at 2:00PM. We are going to ask everyone to bring a pot luck dish to share with the guests after the Memorial Service. Pepper and Joseph really loved sharing a good meal with their friends.
