John T. Cashman

July 24, 1930 – April 18, 2017

John, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2017.

John, 86. was born in Haverhill, MA where he lived until 1949 when he joined the U.S. Air Force. While in the Air Force he received his undergraduate degree from UC Pueblo. John was extremely proud of his 20 years of service to his country. He retired from the Air Force in 1969 while living in Colorado. He then moved to California where he worked at various companies for the next 26 years. During that time he received his master’s degree from Golden Gate College in San Francisco. John and his wife, Jan, retired to Monument, Colorado in 1994. John taught as a substitute in District 20 for several years. John loved to ski and play golf. He was able to spend many years skiing his favorite slopes. John had a real zest for life and ice cream. He gave 100% to every endeavor. He is well known for his dry sense of humor.

John is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jan, and his five children Valarie Cashman, Linda Sturdivant, Ed Cashman, Christine Nakae, and Tom Cashman. He also leaves two step sons Michael Thompson and Curtis Thompson. There are 12 grandchildren who will miss Grandpa John.
