1927-2016

 Fern Crawmer passed away October 11, 2016 at the age of 88.  A native of Colorado, she was born in a farm house in rural DeNova, near Akron November 23, 1927, the daughter of John and Mildred Bloom.  The family moved to the Western Slope when Fern was a teenager and she graduated from Fairplay High School.  A woman of many talents, she had planned on being a dress designer, until in 1946, she met and married Jack Crawmer.  She fell in love with her WWII Navy man.  She became a full time wife and mother. Having lost her mother at age 5, she was the mother she always wished she had.  An accomplished dressmaker, homebuilder/decorator, gardener, gourmet cook, she was a friend to all who crossed her path.  No one ever went away from her kitchen hungry for fabulous food or good conversation.  Survived by her sister Ruth Owings, 3 daughters, Sheila (Ed) Steinberg, Judy (Jim) Anderson, and Jacque (Tom) Decker, 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.  Preceded in death by her brother Ovid Bloom, husband Jack, daughter Sharon and sister Ilah Stone.
